A facile synthesis of an indol-dihydrotestosterone succinate derivative

Abstract

In this study, an indol-dihydrotestosterone succinate derivative (4) was synthesized. The first stage, involved the preparation of an indol-dihydrotestosterone derivative (3) by the reaction of dihydrotestosterone (1) with phenylhydrazine using hydrochloric acid as catalyst. The second stage was achieved by reacting 3 with anhydride succinic or succinic acid to form an indol-dihydrotestosterone succinate derivative (4). © 2012 Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Union of Chemists in Bulgaria.
