Abstract

Q-switching of a large-core cladding-pumped Yb-doped fibre laser was investigated with main focus on maximizing the pulse energy. Pump power up to 30W could be launched into the fiber from two beam shaped 915nm diode bars. The beam propagation parameter M2 was measured to be 31.
