Research Interests
My research is oriented toward knowledge of pinnipeds' population ecology and conservation biology. In particular, I have focused on monitoring and analyzing the growth and viability of the California sea lion and Guadalupe fur seal populations. I am interested in the study of behavior and interactions with human activity that represent a risk to the survival of these animals. Since 1994, I have systematically worked in the Los Islotes colony, Bahía de La Paz, so I have an in-depth knowledge of the life history of these animals and the problems they face.
Professional Information
Biologist graduated from UNAM, I obtained a Master of Science in Marine Resource Management at the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine Sciences of the IPN. I did a Ph.D. in Biology at Arizona State University.
